The theme of the event was De Day as we celebrated the career of Star Trek's Dr McCoy; DeForest Kelley.
Our featured guest speaker; Anne Richardson, presented a most informative keynote about DeForest Kelley which enjoyed a most active Q&A session post presentation.
Kris Smith's books and Terry Lee Rioux's biograpghy about DeForest Kelley were also presented and all titles are most recommended!
Following our presentation, an array of tasty pre film delights were offered to all as well as a host of random quiz prizes, culminating with the drawing of the event raffle prize, anautograph of Jolene Blalock; Tpol from Star Trek Enterprise, valued at $80!

Feb 9, 2019: There was a great gathering of comic book fans in Greenlight Comics for Starship Mawson's presentation of la bande dessinée.
Starship Mawson Event Director, Stuart Blair, delved into his thesis investigations of the literature, as well as discussing the influence of la bande dessinée in a global society.
Ilona spoke about the Brothers Grimm and a parochial pair of cartoon characters from the city of Stuttgart in Germany.

November 2 to 4, 2018 we received a booking to curate and present an exhibition of Franco/Belgian comic book literature and memorabilia at Supanova Comic Con and Gaming in Adelaide at the Adelaide Showgrounds. Approx 20,000 visitors attended the event and we enjoyed a steady flow of pop culture fans to the exhibition.
November 3, 2018, Starship Mawson Event Director, Stuart A Blair received a booking as a keynote speaker at Supanova Comic Con and Gaming, and he presented a linguistic workshop on languages that have been constructed for the entertainment industry.
October 13: Our foodies event at the Chuck Wagon Pop Culture themed restaurant in North Adelaide marked a special celebration of member; Rob in celebrating his birthday.
Starship Mawson’s foodies were on hand to join in with Rob and enjoy a sumptuous array of tasty delights whilst viewing the cool pop culture memorabilia inside the restaurant!
October 1 2018, at the Christian Brothers College was the annual comic con and toy fair, and we had a most successful event in marketing our organisation to the visiting public.
September 14: Starship Mawson's Galactic Gourmets monthly foodies event was at Burgastronomy in Hyde Park and what a fun evening it was!

August 20 - Starship Mawson received a second booking from the State Library of South Australia to conduct a Constructed language workshop as part of National Science Week.

The evening commenced with a tasty repas at The Edinburgh Castle Hotel followed by a leisurely stroll to Marcelina's restaurant for coffee, cake and gelati!
February 11 - Our annual Comic Stores Tour to show our ongoing support of Adelaide's Comic Book Community.
As with each tour, it was a hoot to say the least, with much fun and great purchases secured in each store!
Our tour commenced inside Greenlight Comics and we were most fortunate to meet creators of the new Australian comic - Hail.
Our second stop on the tour was inside Pulp Fiction Comics!
We then moved on to Mad Zombie Collectables!
Finally, a visit to Adelaide Comic Centre's new location inside the Adelaide Arcade!
What a fantastic way to finish our comic book stores tour. Time for a great meal on Rundle St, in Adelaide's restaurant precinct and plenty of great conversation and perusing of our purchases!

October 18 Scary Ghost Tour Meet-up and we are in the cellar of The Port Dock Hotel to kick off our ghost busting tour and the hotel has its own resident ghost that is notorious for throwing post and pushing its staff around at night! (All images taken by Club Member - Ilona Solinska)

August 4 and a fantastic day for us at The Norwood Collectible Fair. Collectible fairs are great for enhancing awareness about our group as well as recruiting new members!
Our July 21 retro board games day was a fun event with plenty of laughs!

Our club pop culture expo we organised on May 4 2013 inside The Burnside Library. A great day of presentations, memorabilia exhibitions, screenings and trading collectable dealers with many new members joining Starship Mawson during the day!
