TERRA NOVA 6Terra Nova 6. What a great event!! Terra Nova was previledged to have Aron Eisenberg 'Nog from Deep Space 9' and Sean Williams author of the new Star Wars book 'The Force Unleashed'. Throughout the day we were treated to amusing and interesting stories by the two guests. The people who turned up in costume added a colourful flavour to the day. |

FANZONE 2008Thanks to all fans that attended Fanzone on February 10, and planning is already underway for next year's event. It was an Adelaide first to have all major SF Fan Clubs exhibiting as well as having the chance to view many of the actual costumes used in Stargate that were on display, costumes from Characters.. O'Neil, Baal and more! There was a great dealers area set up with many fantastic products including the latest products from the Serenity/Firefly show and Stargate. Fanzone was created by our Captain, Stuart Blair. Thank you Stuart for organising this event and to the Starship Mawson members who were able to support it. It was great to see Glenn (our Chief of Communications) who travelled from Melbourne to attend the event. |

MENAGERIEAt the Palace East End Cinema on Tuesday November 27, The Starship Mawson hosted a very special presentation of The Menagerie. The Menagerie is a Star Trek episode that defined the Spock character and displayed the loyalty Kirk had to his commander. As part of a world wide celebration of this classic 60s masterpiece, The Menagerie was presented to a sell out Theatre in a remastered high definition format to co-incide with a 60s series release of HD DVD box sets. Due to an overwhelming response from fans, an encore screening was conducted shortly after the Australian premiere in Adelaide with both audiences enthusiastic for more! The evening proved to be a complete success with great exposure for both organisations as well as a new partnership formed with The Palace East End Cinema and Paramount Home Entertainment. |
