The Adelaide Pop Culture Festival 2008

We are pleased to present you with another Festival of great activities this coming August 16-24 at the SA Museum.

 
To officially kick off the Festival this year we are hosting once again, our
Ultimate Quiz Night
on Saturday August 16 at 7pm
inside the Armoury Gallery directly behind the SA Museum.

Tables of ten are being organised and the cost is only $10 per head.

 
Featured activities this year include a
Retro Sci Fi Film Festival
to be held on Sunday August 17 from 5pm.

Daytime activities for Saturday and Sunday August 16 and 17 will feature worshops in
Alien Makeup and Prosthetic Construction and Fantasy Costume Construction.

Due to the large attendances of these workshops at last years Festival,
you are encouraged to book your place for either workshop or both.

Workshops are free of charge and brought to you by Starship Mawson - Adelaide's group for fans of TV, Theatre, Print and Film
and The Australian Costumer's Guild.

From August 16-24 during National Science Week there will be a static exhibition of rare pop culture memorabilia curated by the Starship Mawson.
This will in The Main Hub which will be located directly in front of the SA Museum.

Exhibits include a rare display of actual costumes worn and props used from the hit television series Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis
There will be rare model kits and dioramas, screen presentations and more!

The big finale of the Festival will be the inclusion of an
Official Star Trek Convention
featuring the appearance of
Aron Eisenberg from Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

The Three Day Star Trek Extravaganza
will take place August 22-24.
